An AR company that helps children expand globally through hospitals
Xploro, a platform that uses augmented reality, gameplay and artificial intelligence to provide health information to young patients, will expand into the global market.
Xploro has secured a £ 100,000 loan from the Manchester Export Fund. It is backed by a collection financing scheme and is provided by a professional lender, the GC Business Finance.
Xploro was founded as a solution to the lack of quality information available to prepare for hospitalization and uses an age-appropriate language and interaction paradigm to reduce treatment stress and anxiety and clinically. Improve outcomes.
We are already using our funds to recruit four new employees to support our expansion into the international market. With extensive gaming and advertising experience, Rawad Abi Akar has joined Xploro as a lead 3D artist to create a new environment for the platform, including content for African viewers and content that can explain intravenous injections.
Kelvin Tavarez has been appointed Senior Growth Manager to drive the acquisition of new businesses in the Spanish and US markets.
Based in Madrid, Tavares has previously served as Procurement Project Manager and Game Learn Sales Executive at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in New York, bringing significant experience to Xploro in both healthcare and gaming. ..
Bryony Price will join Xploro as Customer Success Manager and will focus on helping customers achieve maximum value from the platform.
Prior to joining Xploro, Price was a skills coach at the GC Business Growth Hub, provided business support to the NHS England, and was a software consultant at Deeplake Digital, part of the Castleton Technology PLC.
In July 2021, Xploro appointed Joe Kemp as Head of Software Engineering and oversaw the transfer of platform outsourcing operations with Manchester-based digital agency Corporation Pop to Xploro.
He previously played a senior software engineering role at Coatsink and Quantu MDx.
In October 2021, Xploro announced that it would work with World Child Cancer to provide children in Ghana with free access to the award-winning app.
Dom Raban, CEO and co-founder of Xploro, said:
“They have already played an important role in supporting our international growth strategy and look forward to taking us to the next level as we expand into new markets.
“The support we received from GC Business Finance and the Manchester Export Fund was unparalleled. We are very grateful to the team for helping us scale up globally.
“We are very proud to work with World Child Cancer to give children in Ghana and beyond access to Xploro. Our commercial model is available to any medical institution. But in a country like Ghana, we know that medical information is a luxury not available in many hospitals.
“This is a very important and valuable project and I jumped at the opportunity to offer Xploro for free.”
